The far North has been an enduring influence on both recent work and that created since 2001. The subject matter incorporates coastal and archaeological interests but since 2008 also reference the geological and glacial landscapes of Iceland.
Working as both a painter and printmaker, the techniques of these two very different areas of creativity flow, change and influence each other.
The expressive energy of painting on large canvasses is in sharp contrast to the more structured, technical aspects of printmaking. Resolving these differences of approach within myself helps keep the working process fresh.
