This year we will be including musicians in our Arts trail!

Matt Tomlinson who goes by the name of Piper Matt, will be playing his pipes at many venues in the town.

With over 28 years experience, Matt Tomlinson has competed at the highest level with Pipe Bands before switching to solo piping. He has have also played with rock, brass and Scottish Tribal bands, most recently in Clandonia. Professionally playing as Piper Matt for over 2 years, he also plays Scottish smallpipes, whistle and saxophone and is always up for any musical challenge.

You can hear him performing on 11th and 12 August.

The Moot will be joining us for the day on 11th August. They are a self managed live band and busking outfit from Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. They play a mix of reggae, ska, soul, indie covers and their own unique style of happy, dancey music. The Moot have been performing together since 2005 and started busking full time in 2010 where people are cheered up and found dancing up and down the streets of many Northern towns and cities with big smiles on their faces. The Moot have started doing online busking sessions on if you like what you hear you can thrown them some coins at
